"She’s brilliant and she’s dedicated, she’s tough," Mr Obama told a crowd of 250 supporters. "She also happens to be, by far, the best-looking attorney general in the country."

"The President's comments caused a flurry on Twitter where Zerlina Maxwell, a feminist writer and supporter of Mr Obama's said: "It would be awesome if men would comment on someone's skill instead of their looks."

...I think Ms. Maxwell is absolutely correct, it is awesome when men comment on someone's [a woman's] skills instead of their looks.

When PBO said "She's brilliant and she's dedicated, she's tough", that sounds like some pretty high praise for her skills. That he also commented on her looks AFTER praising her skills - is that the sin ? Especially when it's probably true (although I haven't seen all the AGs).

I also agree that, at least in this photograph, their connection doesn't seem to have suffered from his comment.
