Meantime, to help lift spirits, a lil humorous blast from the past from the man himself and his longtime colleague Siskel.
RIP Roger.

(12,081 posts)of what a wonderful, fulfilling, and comforting thing marriage can be. I know it is for me. I am so sorry Chaz has lost her life partner. Sounds like she has a lot of loving memories to keep close to her heart.

Mr. pig and I watched "Sis & Ebe" from way back in the day. He actually pulled over on his way to work to call me and say he'd just heard on the radio that Rog had died.
Roger's statement on death was one of the most beautiful things I've read:
"I know it is coming, and I do not fear it, because I believe there is nothing on the other side of death to fear.
I hope to be spared as much pain as possible on the approach path. I was perfectly content before I was born, and I think of death as the same state. What I am grateful for is the gift of intelligence, and for life, love, wonder, and laughter. You cant say it wasnt interesting. My lifetimes memories are what I have brought home from the trip. I will require them for eternity no more than that little souvenir of the Eiffel Tower I brought home from Paris."
Go in peace, Roger.
Edited to add -Roger was fortunate to have found such a wonderful life partner in Chaz. All I've ever read is that they were a perfect match, and that makes me happy for the time they were able to spend together.
