As anyone who has moved to Japan knows, the start-up costs of renting accommodation can be draining. Next to that, finding a school to study the Japanese language can be daunting.
Here's where Davide Rossi, an Italian who experienced these highs and lows, is making a difference.
Rossi, 30, operates a website that not only offers information about Japanese-language schools and housing, but also provides a consulting service to help newcomers find the best fit.
Rossi and a Swedish friend, John Koski, set up the "Go! Go! Nihon" website in 2009 after negotiating these hurdles following their arrival in Japan.
Rossi was living in London in 2008 when he decided to come to Japan to study for six months. Having grown up in Rome, Rossi found the glittering neon signs of Tokyo a far cry from home. He was also impressed by the fact that Japan generally is safe for foreign tourists.

Very few. Guns are illegal in Japan, and there are heavy fines and prison sentences for possession.

Nearly all of the gun murders (and there aren't that many) involve yakuza gangsters killing each other. And the only guns that are legal are hunting rifles.
My biggest non-economic concern right now is that I will hit some bicyclist or pedestrian who is not obeying the traffic rules, or get smacked by another driver. Or get smacked by another bicyclist when I'm riding on the correct (left) side of the road and he/she isn't.
