If it is one of the filthy rich brats who think that they do hard work simply because they have to play so much golf, and are disgusted by people who have less than they have, and are always telling people to just pull themselves up by their bootstraps, then yes.

Well, the person you describe is an asshole.... whether they inherit money or not.

It seems to me the person has more to do with it than the money. That was all my "sweeping generalization" was reminding folks of.

And that is true. The post did use the qualifier "some". It was pointing out that there are "some" who get huge inheritances, but think that they are somehow special, when the only thing they did was have the right parents. Don't make more out of the statement than what was intended.

The founders wanted an estate tax to prevent dynasties like the aristocracy in England.

It hasn't worked out so well.

Just not praised or glorified for being very fortunate. That should be understandable. We have some confused people that think inheritance is somehow an admirable quality of a person's measure and that they must have deserved their wealth due to their struggle through the womb.

The system only work when it is in motion, stored money is not in motion, and thus has no value until used.

Actually all restaurant and or bar work or is extremely hard work. It requires both multi tasking and focus as well as intense physical demands

Actually, he doesn't 'do' the lawn anymore, close to 60 years old now I would guess..
He runs the company that has grown to over 20 trucks.

He's a smart businessman and probably would have succeeded in another field if he liked, I believe.
But he always says hard work was what got him to where he is.
