Barack Obama Thinks California's Kamala Harris Is The 'Best-Looking' Attorney General

President Barack Obama gave a shout-out to California Attorney General Kamala Harris during a fundraising stop in Atherton, Calif. today, calling her "by far the best-looking attorney general" in the country.

Per the White House pool report:

Obama gave a shout-out to Rep. Mike Honda and to state Attorney General Kamala Harris, noting a couple of times that she is, objectively, easy on the eyes. “She’s brilliant and she’s dedicated, she’s tough… She also happens to be, by far, the best looking attorney general…. It’s true! C’mon.” The crowd laughed.

She is (1) obviously smarter than a treeful of owls; and (2) exceedingly attractive. She is clearly destined for much higher elective office on the basis of her intelligence.

Obama likes the look of California's attorney general

-snip-

-snip-

While no one argued with Obama about Harris' status as the "best looking attorney general" Thursday, a colleague back home might take issue: Vice President Joe Biden's son Beau is Delaware's attorney general, and his name means "beautiful" in French.

of the Iowa caucuses in 2008. Was reduced to a stammering schoolboy.

Obligatory: not sure Obama should have gone there, though. Not the worst offense, but still this kind of thing tends to reduce the woman to her physical appearance.

There's no avoiding her obvious physical beauty but I'm sure he doesn't think that's all she's got going for her, or he wouldn't have mentioned that she's brilliant and dedicated.

I'm a bit disappointed that obama had to put in Harris's looks in the mix. This kind of talk belongs in high school proms, not public service.

she does. Is she good at her job? I guess I'll have to look it up.

As far as her looks, can't say that would influence me, man or woman, when thinking about an important job like this.

she is, but since I am not familiar with her and frankly don't care much what she looks like so long as she doesn't look like Dick Cheney, if there was going to be a story about her some information on WHY she is good at her job would be informative. Best looking is for beauty pageants not for politics.

Eg, how did she vote on the settlement with the Big Banks? Or was she even in office at that time? You know, info that is relevant to her position.

Professional women should not have their looks publicly evaluated like that. I'm surprised he even thought to say that, let alone actually say it out loud. It reminds me of the time he called a female reporter "sweetie"-- just strangely incongruous and unexpected.

It's a misdemeanor, though, not a felony. Just be more careful and more aware.

Their obvious intelligence aside, Barack and Michelle are the most striking First Couple since Jack and Jackie. They are class and elegance personified.

That the POTUS is a self-admitted sci-fi nerd only adds to his cool factor. The only way he could be cooler as a person is if he were a brony.
