Stephen Colbert declares war on morning Joke

Wednesday night on “The Colbert Report,” host Stephen Colbert took umbrage at former U.S. Rep. Joe Scarborough (R-FL)’s decision to air a pro-Mark Sanford “infomercial” during Wednesday’s edition of Scarborough’s MSNBC show “Morning Joe.”

Former Gov. Sanford (R), who left office in disgrace after admitting to an extramarital affair, is running for the U.S. House of Representatives in South Carolina’s 1st District. Sanford’s opponent? None other than Stephen Colbert’s sister, Elizabeth Colbert Busch.

Colbert said that he hadn’t planned to bring the power of his show to bear on the race, “But then I watched this morning’s ‘Coffee Joe and the Funky Bunch’” and saw Scarborough’s wholehearted endorsement of his friend Sanford, in which Scarborough said, “It’s going to be ‘Morning Joe’ versus ‘Colbert Report.’”

They're comments about everyone making mistakes were disgusting......not everyone does the national 'I was on the appalachian Trail' excuse when noone could find the sleazeball who should have been in South Carolina or DC.....not Argentina with a hussy.....betraying his family.

on national TV no less, (or is was written - don't remember). I would be deeply hurt if someone cheated on me with a one night stand because of whatever but to let you wife know that you never thought of her as "the one" and now you have found that person in another would be just devastating.

And it was completely unnecessary for him to say that.

republicans and upset with our loss. So I'd go to the gym and listen to Stephanie in my earphones on her radio show and laugh myself silly while I worked out. Others would see me burst out laughing on the treadmill and look at me funny...

I thought Jim Ward was a genius. His Drunky McPukeshoes (Tom Delay) was always a delight.

That said, I obviously don't feel depressed about politics the way I did in early 2005. I guess that means Stephanie and her show was my "anti-depressant" and I am moving on...

their holier than thou attitudes, defend their own. Democrats destroy their own like Wiener, a perfect example. His destruction due to his exposing of corruption, not only had no support from his party, but their willing support of that destruction for no more reason than an injudicious e-mail--although Republicans can continue to be shameless; Democrats continue to cower under the most ridiculous accusations. Is the public being suckeredinto a complete loss of Democracy?

However when it is just cheating (ouch, I know that sounds trite to people that have been hurt by it) I would be more forgiving. I was devastated when Elliot Spitzer has to resign and I think that he should make his political comeback. If Diaper Dave and Mark Sanford can, he should be able to. But Weiner would need some serious psychiatric counseling first.

Everyone knows about the intern but I hadn't head about the ME.

"joe scarborough killed his intern, Lori Klausutis. He got away with murder. Why won't Florida reopen the case? The medical examiner then was proven just recently to be completely incompetent and was found to have body parts from autopsies stored in a private storage shed."

Personally I hope Stephen Colbert makes such a laughingstock of Scarborough that MSNBC finally decides to pull the plug on him.
