Yes, you read that right. Ann Coulter's less interesting big sister was on O'Reilly's show and said this:
"I think that for some people it's not about winning a debate, right? It's about actually living the life that they want to live, for themselves, their communities, their families."
Wha--?!
Okay, technically she was defending the opponents of marriage equality who want to use a strictly Biblical argument for formulating a public policy that prevents same sex couples from marrying. O'Reilly recently pinched a loaf into the Fox News kool-aid by pointing out that marriage equality advocates are winning the debate because we're talking about civil liberties while the Right is talking about superimposing their religious belief set on others.
Only he called it "Bible thumping", which pissed off all his coworkers. So BillO invited Ingraham onto his show to "talk about the issue" and she assumed he meant talk about gay marriage--only what he really wanted to talk about was himself. I mean, seriously, what's more important--equal treatment under the law for millions of Americans, or the self preening of BillO, center of the universe? In the video, you'll see he spends most of his time not letting the guest on his show get in a complete sentence... at least not until she's tamed and reduced to kissing his ass for the last third of the segment. Finally, making a half assed effort to reassure her Bible-thumping audience that she understands them, even as she kisses the caboose of the man who made fun of the Bible, Ingraham said this about Thumper-Americans:
"I think that for some people it's not about winning a debate, right? It's about actually living the life that they want to live, for themselves, their communities, their families."
Well, there's some irony for ya, kids. All these poor intolerant rightwing, politicized Christians want to do is live their lifestyle as they best see fit, raising their families and participating in their communities like ordinary, decent Americans--participating, that is, by trying to keep other people who don't like from having those same rights.
Fox News at its finest, folks, a real spectacle.

(7,199 posts)1. Well, this is going to be awkward...
Those big holiday dinners at the Ingraham's must really be something when Laura's gay brother and his partner show up at the dinner table. Maybe her brother should bring up how he and his partner just want to, " live) the life that they want to live, for themselves, their communities, their families".
