Leno stoops lower than previously thought possible.

Last edited Wed Apr 3, 2013, 04:10 PM - Edit history (1)

from last night's show ...

The Associated Press, the largest newsgathering outlet in the world, will no longer use the term "illegal immigrant." That is out. They will now use the phrase "undocumented Democrat."

on edit: many replies indicate folks find this funny. To me it perpetuates the lie that there are lots of non-citizens voting in our elections, and that those non-citizens vote Democratic.

This lie is being used to justify voter ID and other voter suppression laws. To me, at least, that ain't funny.

20. Old Buddy Hackett joke as told by Al Franken
Wed Apr 3, 2013, 03:24 PM
Apr 2013

Guy goes into his doctor's office.
He's got a dot in the middle of his forehead.
Doctor sees him and says, "Oh my god! I've never seen this before, but I've read about it in medical school."
Guy says, "Well doctor...what is it?"
He says, "In six weeks, you'll have a penis growing out of your forehead."

Guy says, "Well doctor, cut it off!"
Doctor says, "I can't cut it off, it's attached to your brain--you'd die."
So the Guy says, "So doctor, what you're telling me is that in six weeks, every morning when I get up and look in the mirror I'm gonna see a penis growing out of my forehead?!"
Doctor says, "Oh no no no, you won't see it. The balls will cover your eyes."

doing stand up comedy in men's funny hat clubs in New England between the rare gigs at clubs. Once he moved out to LA and started to haul in the cash he got squishy, conservative, and distinctly unfunny.

His schtick was always out of date and unremarkable. His looks are off-putting (not his fault) and his humor is pedestrian..

As Letterman has aged, his wit is still razor sharp.

He's not as bold & wacky as he was when he started, but then none of us are

The joke seems to have gone over many peoples' heads. It exposes the RWnuts' anti-immigrant fear that immigrants will be smart enough to vote for people who fight for their interests, unlike many low-info repug voters.

I always thought of him as the asshole that stole Letterman's job. Even Carson was
sure Dave was going to follow him on the Tonight Show. But the NBC brass had other
plans. They screwed Dave and they screwed Johnny. I haven't watched one Leno show
for more than thirty minutes since he's had it, so I sure as hell won't miss the asshole
when he's gone. And frankly, I don't care much about Fallon either.

Jay Leno is a liberal btw, a good one. Not to mention a very, very very very big labor union person, so much so that he cut his own salary so that his staff could keep all their jobs and is saying he would do so again in a new job.

and what is going on? Do liberals now also NOT get satire, irony and farce?

If Colbert said it, everyone would be in stitches.

Wed Apr 3, 2013, 05:17 PM
Apr 2013

The big part of the news is that the show is moving to NYC (Fallon would fail quickly in Calfironia, as he is a product of Lorne Michaels and Lorne is NYC). Also big victory for Lorne

So its great for NYC and super great for Mike Bloomberg, who made this happen.

But Jimmy's bits can be watched on cable the day after like his great parady of Willow Smith's Whip my hair and Rebecca Black's Friday(with Colbert).

However, Jaywalk and Headlines are Leno's.

Those thank you notes by Fallon gotta go. They suck.

the interviews by anyof them all suck, scripted and the same on all talk shows.

Too bad Tina Fey refused the Fallon job.

Leno has been #1 in the ratings for 22 years. Not a bad run.

But there never will be another Johnny and as important, Ed.

that is one of the scenerios floating around.

Leno has been a winner for 20 plus years.

But he probably will go to Fox at 11pm and 1/2hour up Fallon and Letterman.
