Did their task force bother checking out the operation of any school? And research more than one?
How does one have a school building secured from attack so that entry is prevented through doors and other methods of entry? Schools like most buildings don't have just one or two means of entry.
What would be the cost of arming the staffers? How many of the staffers are physically able to provide armed response? Would there be any staffers that need to be avoided as they would be a risk to safety?
How difficult would it be to provide security to prevent another incident to a high school with nearly 250,000 sq ft of building space sitting on land about 320,000 sq. ft.? Dimension of the school is about 730 x 425. There are at least 25 doors not including windows. Entry can be gained on each side of the building. During lunch hour there is lots of activity in and out of the building. What happens if an attacker finds cover nearby either on a hill or trees. Or finds a utility building that is used for outdoor school activities?

Now, how many guns will then be sold based on their ridiculous, suggested solution? Ah, heavily armed schools is really going to work, huh?
