Dory is swimming her way back to the box office.
Disney and Pixar announced Tuesday that "Finding Nemo" is getting a sequel with the upcoming release of "Finding Dory."
I have waited for this day for a long, long, long, long, long, long time, said Ellen DeGeneres, who voices Dory, in a statement. Im not mad it took this long. I know the people at Pixar were busy creating Toy Story 16. But the time they took was worth it. The script is fantastic. And it has everything I loved about the first one: Its got a lot of heart, its really funny, and the best part isits got a lot more Dory.
"Finding Dory" is reportedly set on the California coastline, one year after "Finding Nemo." The animated flick will include many of the characters from the first film, such as Marlin, the Tank Gang, and of course, Nemo.

(18,585 posts)'Finding Nemo' was both the best and the worst thing to happen to the hobby since protein skimmers.
You had idiots on local news stations showing how easy it was to walk into a pet store with a fist full of cash and walk out with a small tank and two bags- one with a 'dory' and one with a 'nemo'..

Setting up a successful marine tank takes time. There's an axiom in this hobby- "Nothing good ever happens fast in a reef tank."
While I will love the exposure that such a film will give to the hobby and ocean conservation, I will weep at all the newbies showing up at local fish club forums asking, "Why is my dory all covered in spots?"

(18,585 posts)All three require paying more attention to water chemistry than a typical freshwater guppy tank. A FOWLR tank requires more careful livestock choices, but there are plenty of resources in print and online to help a novice aquarist.
A true reef tank, though? Easily becomes a passion^obsession rather than a hobby. Once you get into coral fragging, it's all over.
