Tree Returns Fire on Man Who Used It for Target Practice

A man in Iowa is currently in hospital recovering from an injury he sustained after a tree he was using for target practice fired back at him.

According to initial reports, 27-year-old Logan Bunn was shooting at tree outside his home near Lansing when one of the bullets ricocheted, striking him in an unspecified body part.

Bunn arrived at a La Crosse hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, prompting staffers to notify local police.

Authorities in Allamakee County are still investigating the bizarre incident which occurred early Sunday morning, but say no foul play is suspected.

What an idiot! You always keep back from a target for just that purpose. Hell, even BBs from BB guns are known to have bounce back.

soft pine. I grabbed a piece of hardwood unwittingly.

when I shot it, I could literally SEE the BB coming back at me, but way too fast to even think about dodging. it hit my front tooth, and even made the movie style ricochet sound... scared the shit out of me. that target went flying into the woods after that

In the present example: Angry + Tree.

One guess....

My asshole stepfather was throwing a hatchet at a tree. I told him that it wasn't cool, throwing a hatchet into a living tree.

His response? "It's just a fucking tree."

Bounceback, right in his crotch. I wish it would have killed him, we would have been spared decades of misery.

David Grundman, while in his mid-20s in 1982, was enjoying shooting some cacti
with his shotgun when he stumbled upon a 25-foot tall specimen and thought it
was ripe for shooting. A few shots later, a heavy four-foot arm of the cactus fell
with enough force to kill Grundman. This was later immortalized in two true urban
legends books by Jan Harold Brunvan as well as a song, “Saguaro”, by the Austin Lounge Lizards.
