is rocking Janis Joplin's hometown. On the "west side" of town...and law enforcement is dismissing it as "isolated" incidents. I guess it just matters what side of the tracks it happens on. In a community of 54k...8 shootings in 4 days seems pretty significant.

Eight people have been shot in Port Arthur in less than four days.
The shootings have happened within a three-mile radius on Port Arthur's west side leaving some residents in fear for their lives.
Prince Hall Village Apartment resident Latisha Montgomery says last night she and her three small children slept on the floor for fear of being hit by a stray bullet.
Montgomery says it has sounded like a war zone outside her home.
And mother's fear turned to frustration as she looks for ways to protect her family.
Sargeant Scott Gaspard with Port Arthur PD says though the eight shootings are within close proximity the community shouldn't panic he says these are isolated incidents.
