Grooviest sea lion ever!

Researchers from the Long Marine Laboratory at the University of California, Santa Cruz have trained a sea lion named Ronan to bob her head in time to a metronome-like sound, a skill she can also apply to tempos and music she's never heard before. That might sound like a fun waste of time, except Ronan's the first known non-human mammal to learn such a trick. Her mad rhythm disproves earlier theories that suggested that only animals which are good at vocal learning and mimicry (such as parrots) can keep a beat. Peter Cook, a graduate student at the lab whose work with Ronan started as a side project, said her favorite song appears to be Earth Wind and Fire's "Boogie Wonderland." Funky
