'Buckwild' star Shain Gandee dead at 21

Shain Gandee, a star on the MTV reality program "Buckwild," has died, NBC affiliate WSAZ confirmed on Monday.

The 21-year-old and his uncle, David Gandee, were reported missing on Sunday, according to the Kanawha County Sheriff's Office. The two were said to have been last seen at a Sissonville, W.Va., bar around 3 a.m., and they then planned to go four-wheeling.

According to Kanawha County Commission President Ken Carper, the bodies of Shain and two others were found in a truck in Sissonville on Monday.

Shain, along with "Buckwild" co-star Shae Bradley, appeared on TODAY in January, to defend their then-new show from critics who feared their on-screen antics would reinforce negative stereotypes about West Virginians.

...and leaving the engine on (or even revving it to get out). I know of four other people who died that way; worked with the brother of one of the girls. It's a real tragedy. Maybe this will raise some awareness about the danger of it.

4. I dunno, but going "four-wheeling" after drinking in a bar at 3 a.m. doesn't sound good

My life has been a laundry list of that kind of crap.

Person I met in bar, "Really? This thing will hit 150?".

Me, "Check this out".

I've been following this story since this morning.

Were they killed in a car accident? Were they shot?

The sad thing is if this guy wasn't part of a production about idiot hicks (a club I once belonged to), we wouldn't be on this thread.

When my sons were young, friends of mine always disagreed with my telling my boys about my wild-ass adventures. My sons have never been in trouble. I wish I could say the same about the children of those very friends.

"Dad, how does sniffing glue make you feel?"

(Dad thinks, "Oh, shit.&quot

"Well, right away you feel better than you have ever felt in your life."

"Really?"

"Yeah, you are all woozy, your heart is racing and everything is moving around. The music will sound crazy."

"Wow!"

"And when it starts to wear off, your head will feel like it is going to split and your lungs will feel like shit. When you wake up the next morning, you will wish you were dead."

"Thanks, Dad."
