Tourists abducted: Woman raped and beaten for hours on Rio minibus

Police say the woman and her boyfriend boarded a minibus in the Copacabana beach district early Saturday.

Authorities believe three men, including the driver of the bus, forced the other passengers out of the minibus before attacking and abducting the two tourists.

Police say that for an estimated six hours the woman was raped, while her boyfriend was handcuffed and severely beaten.

The suspects then left the couple in the nearby city of Itaborai, after forcing them to use their bank cards for purchases and cash withdrawals.
