They won their opener--in spite of Carlos Marmol. (And, despite having some great players on the DL--already.) This could be the only time they're in in first place all year...

Had to laugh at the new WGN color commentator...Marmol SOMETIMES has trouble with control.

I'll see that some and call it at least half the time

When he's on, he's on. But, he's off more than he's on. It's maddening. I'm glad Sveum pulled him out when he did.

I like that new color guy, so far. He's very entertaining, and he knows his stuff. I kinda like him better than Bob Brenley.

IMO the right move would've been to pull him last November.

I really don't know if I can take yet another season of this kind of crap. I really don't understand why they keep him.

Now, LET'S GO NATS! (Harper and Strasburg sure got off to a tough start - two ABs, two bombs ... and seven innings and no runs).

Or any kind of bet actually. In the rule book, it says this:

4.02 The players of the home team shall take their defensive positions, the first batter of
the visiting team shall take his position in the batter’s box, the umpire shall call “Play” and
the game shall start.

So "Play Ball" is not really correct. Just sayin................

18. And here I thought you were going to say "FUCK YOU!" - two words, right?

Those two words are amazingly adaptable to various situations. It can mean "FUCK you" as in, "shove off", "you won the card game", bad insult, "eat shit", or anything else in the mildly offensive but not intended to be department.

It can ALSO mean "fuck YOU!", which by the intonation alone indicates a direct attack on an individual.

Cats use the diminuative form "fuck you" just because they are cats.

And "FUCK YOU!!!!" pretty much comes across the way it sounds.

Then there are variations like "fuuuuCCCKKKK Yooouuuuu" which is only used by people under the age of twenty who like to wear their pants down below their asses so their plaid boxer shorts show.

There's also the Italian slang "fangool", which technically means "go do it in the ass" but in English translates into "fuck you".

In Russian it is пошел на хуй (poshel na kooea), but ебать ваш (yebate vash) means pretty much the same thing but more in line with "yourself".

Then there's the "fuck you" used after a long night of drinking at a rough bar. This generally results in twenty or so stitches in the emergency room. "Have a good evening" is considered to be a better departing comment in such situations.
