No way was I voting for Kennedy. He was my Rep and had voted for him. He disappointed me. Now he has lost his seat. All we have now for representation in Congress is a Dem that became a R so he could work for and elect our Governor-R...then switched back again.

Bright blue district gave us an on again off again GOPer.

It shows you the outsized importance of the Senate and the SCOTUS that the founders never intended and how undemocratic the entire thing is - as small states (which tend to be heavily RW and white) hold disproportionate power in this country.

We must make DC and PR states (to get 4 more senators), expand SCOTUS, and work to abolish or neuter the Electoral College.

Mitch was the guy who turned over precedent re Supreme Court nominations. Since precedent is abandoned, lets establish a new normal that might preserve democracy for another coupe of terms at least.

We all hope this happens, but taking control of both houses is no guarantee that a court-packing bill will succeed.

Biden has flatly stated that he opposes such a measure. (which he kind of has to say if he wants to win the election)

expansion of the SCOTUS & lower courts, & impeach Kavanaugh. They can cry foul but they can't have their cake & eat it too - move to set their own precedent then hypocritically break it.

James Comey helped them steal the 2016 election. We need to stop pretending that the things he did were normal or legitimate. They were neither. And they also were not survivable for too many politicians. We have no obligation to accept the results of that phony election that they set up.

What Markey said is critical for the survival of our democracy. One more facist SCOTUS and we are dead, well so much we hold dear will be dead. For instance, four year terms - gone, healthcare - gone, social security and Medicare - gone - stolen by the rich. Will we still be able to vote after 8 years of drumpf and RW courts - doubtful, will there still be free public schools - doubtful, unions - gone, right to protest - gone. Dems have to fight back and take overwhelming steps to reconstitute our democracy when/if we win. The gloves have to come off - no filibuster for any reason, expand SCOTUS by 2, change the laws to require 10 years of tax returns to be eligible to run for the presidency, put teeth in subpoenas and throw the fascists in jail when they refuse and take away their salaries. Enhance the emoluments clause, give it definition and penalties - never can we have someone who runs the country for his own profit again.

for a member of Congress to actually stay on the floor for as long as necessary, or a rotating group of members to do the same thing? And then a vote of I think it's 2/3 to end the filibuster.

1. Issue a rejection of any nomination, hearing, or vote on the vacancy prior to inauguration.
2. Should they proceed and seat a justice in violation of their precedent, Biden will pursue adding AT MINIMUM 2 additional justices.

And name the top 2 considerations for the seats:
1. Merrick Garland
2. Barack Obama.

Pull the pin on that grenade.

Watch the votes pour in for Biden and democratic senators.
