Huffington PostFirst of all, and I mean this sincerely, I hope Vice President Biden refers to Donald as Donald just because thats an easy way to get under his skin and nobodys disrespected the office as much as Donald has, so he doesnt deserve the cover of the respect of the office of the presidency, she said.
Mary Trump, who in July released a tell-all book about her uncle titled Too Much and Never Enough: How My Family Created The Worlds Most Dangerous Man, also suggested Biden call out her uncles lies to his face if the moderators dont.
Even if it feels rude, even if it feels like hes interrupting, its too important for us to sit on ceremony here, she said.

(22,025 posts)Trump was a private citizen and he had socialized with Secretary Clinton.
Now, Trump is the president and it would be a terrible mistake for VP Biden to insult the office he's seeking. There are other ways to trigger Trump and I'm sure they'll be used.

or "don't believe everything limbaugh says" or "i wouldn't believe anything limbaugh says"
it's true for just about any of the bulllshit trump spews
and if he asks trump any question it should be "why did you hire sam nunberg to listen to 1000's of hours of talk radio in 2014, the same year Russian operatives were traveling the US and gathering information on Dem candidates?"

trump watches fox to get the cartoon cliff notes for talk radio. they are neighbors and golf partners and there are plenty of pics of them together.
It would make Joe look bad more than it would upset "Donald". It would be best, however, to find ways to avoid saying "President Trump", something I never call him. However, I do agree with Mary Trump, that calling him "Donald" would probably drive him nuts.

(11,982 posts)Of course, if Biden started with "May I call you Donald," he'd presumably get back, "No, you may not."

(47,363 posts)She was SO nervous and afraid she'd refer to him as O'Biden, which she'd done during debate prep.
That would be priceless if Joe asked, "May I call you Donald", but I doubt he would choose to be that familiar with this vulgarian. Too friendly.

Giving him opportunity to be snarky is a bad move, his base thinks it is hilarious

(5,106 posts)I Remember Sarah Palin asking in THEIR V.P. debate "Can I Call you JOE?"? Biden should ask Trump's permission to call him "Donald," or better yet, "Don." Trump's reaction, whatever it was, would definitely be PRICELESS.

(23,198 posts)At some point in the debate, Joe just needs to throw in one line: "Tell the TRUTH for ONCE, Donald!"
And I hope Joe refers to one of tRump's lies as "mashed-potato malarkey." (Remember the episode Mary Trump recounted of Donnie's older brother dumping a bowl of mashed potatoes on Little Donnie's head?) That oughta trip his trigger BIGLY! I could see that bringing on an EPIC meltdown that would show the public just how unstable the Con is.

You respect the office not necessarily the occupant of it. The former Vice President should maintain complete decorum.

(14,889 posts)During the debates Trump as rambles on, etc. and then it's President Biden's turn, he should just say "that's a bunch of malarkey, and then answer the question and state his case. No need to repeat the lies, as that's just reinforcement.
I am nervous about the debates. Haven't decided if I'll watch. Maybe I should stock up on a lot of wine! ;0)

Plus, as was said before Trump probably can't stand for an entire debate so Biden needs to ask if they can stand, (like is always done). Or if Donny must sit Biden can walk around the stage.

(22,025 posts)First, Trump IS the president. VP Biden would never disrespect the office he is seeking. That wouldn't make any sense.
Second, the right-wing media would make that their talking point for weeks. Why give them a freebie?
Lastly, there must be many other ways to irk Trump and get under his skin. I'm hopeful that the Biden campaign has consulted with some psychologists to develop lines of attack that will trigger negative responses from Trump.

(11,686 posts)despite that name being trumps first name. Biden know he can get under his skin by calling out on trumps lies and abuse of power. Then again, If trump uses Bidens first name then it might be fair game. What trump does not know is that his calling Biden by his first name does not get under Bidens skin.

(440 posts)I think the more Joe can do to separate himself and distance himself from the Tangerine Toddler's impulsive and infantile behavior, the better. Joe should make every effort to show respect for the office by addressing the idiot as "Mr. President" every. single. time.
However, I would love to see him leave the podium and roam around behind Donnie-boy at every opportunity, just like tRump did to HRC in 2016.

I would call him a buffoon to his face, but that might not seem very presidential.
Definitely call out his BS. He likes to say crap he wishes was true. He never checks to see if any of it is actually true. Saves a lot of time and effort doing research that way. But most of it is just BS and he doesn't care. He just pretends that he knows things. THAT'S where the lie comes in. He doesn't really know, and he knows he doesn't know.
If he tries to make fun of Biden for getting his syntax tangled during some statement, reply with, "Hey, bub, if you want to have a contest about who can put together more coherent, grammatically correct sentences, I'll beat you every time."
