I was in scrubs and had just finished gassing up. A lady knocked on my car window, gave me a roll of small trash bags to use for handling gas pumps, and thanked me for being a health care worker. It's nice to be appreciated. The smallest gesture can matter when someone is tired and had a rough week/month/year.

(4,291 posts)Right below the mailbox on my covered front porch, I have a small styrofoam cooler which I load with a couple bottles of water and an ice pack Monday - Saturday. There's a note on the mailbox saying how much I appreciate their work, and to please take a bottle for now, and another one for later. (S/he usually delivers right before noon, as the heat index is approaching 100).
