The most heartbreaking thing ...

...about parting ways with Trump supporters you once called friends is knowing that even if irrefutable evidence of his corruption were presented (and there is plenty of that), those Trump supporters you love and would call your friends would not be swayed by any of it. It simply wouldn't matter. You have to wonder if there is any floor to the corruption, immorality, inhumanity they will tolerate. And then when you realize there is not a place low enough that would cause them to reconsider their allegiance to the most vile, you, then, must be the one to walk away from the relationship to preserve your own integrity. It involves grief, bitter disappointment, and yes, simply a broken heart to admit that so many people you know and love actually have so little integrity or moral fiber. Like a lover you realize you never really knew, you walk away with your heart shattered, wishing it could have been different. It is not a mere difference of opinion or political perspective that destroys our friendship. It is the huge chasm, a gulf, between our most fundamental values and theirs, that causes this final ripping apart of your heart and your relationships.

Goodbye to those I once considered friends. I am leaving you all behind at once so I don't have my heart broken a thousand times more.

And is voting for Trump, breaks my heart because we used to be so close.

She is making good money now and I have watched the more she made the more she got conservative. She doesn't watch the news and when told how bad Trump is she nervously laughs and says both sides are bad.

I just pulled back and don't talk politics with her, last time we talked about it in July we had a huge argument. Crushed my heart.

...God, I am so sorry. I know that breaks your heart. Maybe it's just young and dumb shit. Maybe she will get over it. I'd truly like to ask all my former friends, "Is there a floor? Is there anything he could do that would make you walk away? Bribery? Rape? Treason? Pedophilia? ANYTHING?

Maybe she will get over it someday. I am so very sorry. I know your heart is broken.

For almost 20 yrs. Since she is not into news or politics she tends to side with who she is with. Her ex husband was a union guy so she always voted dem, but last 6 years her boyfriend who I and most of family can't stand is a Trump guy even though he never votes, just pushing her away from us and what she used to believe. On top of that she has been surrounded at work all the other managers and owner are republicans and she just finally joined them.

She only has a few friends, new ones from last 5 years and they are republicans. So I slowly watched it coming.

Just very sad.

For some people - Money is the only prism with which they see the world . ..they have a bad influence on people

I suspect a close friend of our family is a closet Republican ---( taxes) -- but pretends to be a lib just to hang out with us.

10. She is also pro life

She had a oops and my grandson was born before she turned 18, she is very strong willed, but motivated and a good leader. I wept when she told me she was preg at 17, she said its my mistake and I have to take care of it. She was manager of a copy store at 17, just always a hard worker. She took GED test during her pregnancy and worked until she is where she's at today. From the ground up. Very organized and while working fulltime was youngest mom among the yuppies to organize all the soccer teams in her area and the parents.

She never talks about being pro life though because another close family member she loves had an abortion.

And she is kind and does not push politics even tho she's a magat and she's been kind to me since I was a kid and even up until recently when my mom died . I stayed at her house.I was treated so kindly by her. She always tells me she loves me and hugs me often. She's stupid about my transgenderness but isn't vicious about it.

It tears me apart she is magat. But the evangelical church has corrupted her soul. Faux news too. She has a disabled adult son
and helps other disabled people. She has so much good in her.

Does she understand trump wants disabled people to die,he wants to end payroll taxes?

And if she votes for trump again after all the evil shit he has done already , I cannot forgive her.

Knowing the horror that orange tyrant wants to do to me and people like me and the people I hold dear.

I cannot be around her anymore knowing what she thinks is ok regarding what this nation should become. I cannot abide a fascist even if she's been sweet to me most of my life never pushing her politics or religion despite knowing I am liberal and anti religious.

She asked me one time where I stood on those issues one day so I told her. She asked why, I told her ,than we never talked about it again much at all. That was years ago.

I love my aunt Loretta but I can't handle her having such acceptance of something as awful as fascism without it making me psychologically crazy.

It tears me up too.

I explained to her the problem extends down the ballot. No republicans but unfortunately neither a senator nor governor is up for vote this year in Florida.
