If I had been in charge in February, or whenever we....

... knew about that stark disparity in severity based on age, I would have done this.

- Poured tons of money into testing nursing homes and similar congregate living facilities, residents and everyone who entered, like the NBA bubble (where they're pouring in LOTS of money to get rapid response testing EVERY DAY).

- Poured tons of money into supporting everyone over 60 so they could shelter in place.

- Poured tons of money into supplying N95 masks to health care workers and anyone over 60 who was an "essential worker."

- Let everyone else deal with COVID like we deal with the flu.

Defense Production Act to manufacture PPE immediately for medical workers and N95 masks for everyone. And of course lead by example by wearing one and mandating everyone wear one when out in public. Social distancing too, and manufacturing of testing equipment and a national testing and tracing program.

Any sentient, thinking president would've done it. We'd be though this virus and going about our lives now.

New Zealand just recorded their 100th day without an infection case. With competent leadership we could've been there too. Vietnam, South Korea—both big success stories too.

As they say, elections have consequences.
