4. This particular order does nothing of thesort.

All it does is allow the employer to stop withholding for the rest of the year.

The taxes are still due to the social security system.
The taxpayer will still have to pay them - when they complete their taxes they will discover they have not pre-paid their FICA taxes as they usually do - and will owe the amount ordinarily withheld.

This is (1) an illusion of giving you more money now (2) coupled with a threat that if you don't elect me the withholding deferral goes away, Congress has no chance to actually forgive those taxes, and you will owe all those taxes come tax day.

Not disputing your general posiiton - just that this particular order is far more evil (but less likely to impact the SS system overall)
