I didn't see the segment. Thank God.

Now do you see why Chuck Todd was demoted? A trashy scumbag like Peter Navarro was literally invited on to his program to tell him that the Lord created executive orders and Chuck sat there blinking and asked a stupid question instead. He needs to be fired @MSNBC . Fired. Fired.

I agree with David Gregory, but I'd replace Blitzer with Chris Hayes.

(32,567 posts)When he's actually paying attention, he can follow up and hold people accountable. But 90% of the time he blanks out and doesn't listen to what is being said. This forces him to either move on to a different topic or ask the same exact question again (like he did during his interview with president Obama).

Inform the Public? Not My Job, Says Chuck Todd
https://fair.org/home/inform-the-public-not-my-job-says-chuck-todd/
NBC White House correspondent Chuck Todds declaration that its not his job to inform viewers when politicians spread misinformation was noted by several progressive blogs today, including Talking Points Memo.
Appearing on MSNBCs Morning Joe today (9/18/13), Todd responded to Ed Rendells claim that Obamacare opponents are full of misinformation about the program by explaining that this was because Republicans have successfully messaged against it. But wasnt journalisms job to expose misinformation? No, Todd insisted; if the public was misinformed about the Affordable Care Act, it was the presidents fault for not pushing back:
What I always love is people say, Well, its you folks fault in the media. No, its the president of the United States fault for not selling it.
Its sad that NBCs White House correspondent thinks his job is merely to convey politicians pronouncements, with no care about whether they are true or false. In fact, scrutinizing claims, particularly those from powerful officials, is an essential part of journalism. Its embarrassing to have to cite elementary principles to one the nations most influential reporters, but Todd should consider reviewing the Society of Professional Journalists Code of Ethics, where, under the heading Seek Truth and Report It, the very first tenet implores journalists to test the accuracy of information from all sources.
Fuck that guy. Especially his hypocritical 'tough questions' commercial. Yeah. Chock Toad: "It's my job to ask the tough questions and let Republican shills take a wet shit on any concept of truth or decency when they answer and I just nod like a fucking lap dog."

Gotta remember that the next time I forget to turn off the teevee when he comes on, and hence get exposed to some of the bland porridge he serves up.
He did recently get demoted, though, so there's a start.
