Those in Postal Service governance are chosen by POTUS and answer to the Senate and him

Rather than lashing out at Democrat in leadership in Congress and the Senate for 'doing nothing' because they aren't "fixing this RIGHT NOW" we should be looking at why DeJoy was able to do this in the first place, and understand what is and isn't possible right now.

The Board of Governors of the United States Postal Service sets policy, procedure, and postal rates for services rendered. It has a similar role to a corporate board of directors. Of the eleven members of the Board, nine are appointed by the President and confirmed by the United States Senate (see 39 U.S.C. § 202). The nine appointed members then select the United States postmaster general, who serves as the board's tenth member, and who oversees the day-to-day activities of the service as chief executive officer (see 39 U.S.C. §§ 202–203). The ten-member board then nominates a deputy postmaster general, who acts as chief operating officer, to the eleventh and last remaining open seat.

The independent Postal Regulatory Commission (formerly the Postal Rate Commission) is also controlled by appointees of the President confirmed by the Senate. It oversees postal rates and related concerns, having the authority to approve or reject USPS proposals.

About the Board of Governors
The Board of Governors of the U.S. Postal Service is comparable to a board of directors of a publicly held corporation. The Board normally consists of up to nine governors appointed by the President of the United States with the advice and consent of the Senate.

The nine governors select the Postmaster General, who becomes a member of the Board, and those 10 select the Deputy Postmaster General, who also serves on the Board. The Postmaster General serves at the pleasure of the governors for an indefinite term and the Deputy Postmaster General serves at the pleasure of the governors and the Postmaster General.

If there was more that Congress could do right now about it than hammer away publicly at the massacre and demand an investigation, they would be doing it.

as if there is a magic wand that Democratic Leaders have at their disposal that they could wave and make this go away, but are just refusing to.

I think some are shocked because they believe that it just can't be possible that things are going so wrong for THEM, and not just people of color, women, and LGBTQs.... and therefore SOMEONE isn't DOING SOMETHING that could be done to FIX THIS, and make things OK for them again, like nature intended.
