Alternative to the USPS for voting by mail. This is in Maryland. (Original Post)

Carrier pigeons? You still need USPS to deliver you the ballot before you fill it out and drop into one of those things.

the ballots in, we want to drop them off to make sure.
If they don't mail them to you in the first place you would know that in advance and take other steps.

And if your ballot shows as mailed to you, but you never receive it, now you can't vote regular ballot. So we really need USPS to be working properly.

(10,667 posts)5. Yes. In CA if you don't receive your ballot by mail (or perhaps couldn't find it), you can indeed
go to your polling place to vote, but it will be a PROVISIONAL BALLOT! I learned this in March during our primary, and I went home and found my ballot. Provisional ballots are perhaps well-meaning but must be avoided at all costs.
