The country club cheerleaders aren't really cheering for Trump

They’re cheering for the right wing policies that some behind the scenes ideologue wrote down for him to repeat. No successful, educated person can admire such a foolish, boorish fraud that is Trump. They cheer for the idea of eliminating taxes and Social Security and other policies that help average Americans who could never belong to a country club, but could be waiters or waitresses, or caddies. Memories of Caddy Shack come to mind

they’d have in their own pockets were those taxes eliminated. They even consider the payroll taxes employees pay on their own behalf, imagining what life would be like were even these taxes eliminated (no need to pay an employee that $X a week to cover SS and Medicare if it isn’t going directly into the employee’s pocket, right?).

Oh, about the same. They'd still have three yachts, they'd still have three vacation homes, they'd still have their Bentleys. And maybe, just maybe, if they're business owners, they'd direct their corporate profits into R & D, or workers' benefits, rather than gorge themselves with ever more money. That's what happened before Reagan.
