Happy National Veep Day from the Carter Library with an homage to VP Walter Mondale

Jimmy Carter Library @CarterLibrary

Happy #NationalVeepDay! Vice President Walter Mondale is the oldest living VP & has the longest post-VP time span. Carter & Mondale changed the role of the VP, moving the VP's office into the White House, so he could get the same briefings as the President. NAIDs 182916 & 182844

He was accompanied by his well dressed and low-keyed staff.
They were all so polite and kind. And VP Walter Mondale had an impressionable smile and demeanor. It lit up everything around him.
A different era, no doubt.
We were on a flight to Minneapolis, a couple of decades ago.

one of my greatest memories from years of travel
