My friend came in the store, where I worked in New York, and told me Paul Wellstone was killed in an airplane crash.. she was crying so hard.
We can grieve the way we want to.

(9,041 posts)How he's blending legislative and policy initiatives into the story of John Lewis. Masterful stuff.
Sigh, when we had a President who spoke and wrote actual English.

(296,893 posts)I had to miss most of this today. He was on fire.
Something I noticed as he was speaking, as he turned from time to time his memorial pin for John Lewis flashed a bright light. Yes it was the overhead lights that caught John's image, yet it flashed brightly. John is still with us, in our hearts and souls.
Thanks so much for posting this portion of his speech, Cha.
Peace

(296,893 posts)Mahalo for telling us about Pres Obama's memorial pin flashing brightly with the Light!
All of these signs.. from the Rainbow above the Capitol Dome just for John to President Obama's beautiful Eulogy are comforting for us wishing John a glorious journey
I think so too.. that he will always be with us.. just like all our Loved Ones who have passed on.

I get wistful, too. I felt safe with Obama. I felt comfort and dignity. Im in my sixties and with the horrible mess that Trump has made, I know it will take longer than my lifetime for ANY one to fix that mess. Ill never feel safe again.
And it really pisses me off that Ive been robbed of that.

(9,760 posts)I naively did not anticipate RWers flipping out about it. Daring to call President Barack Obama "disrespectful" for "politicizing" the event.
Those belligerently ignorant morons neither know nor care anything about John Robert Lewis.

(9,760 posts)Especially the brainwashed fools (or bots) who post the most disgusting RWBS on Twitter. But, somehow it just keeps surprising me.
It's just so hard to believe anyone could be so entrenched in a belief system based on such blatant and easily disproved lies. I always knew to RW propaganda machine was strong, but I must have thought there was a limit to just how much reality the subjects could deny.

(9,760 posts)if Carlson is that delusional or if he he's fully aware of the extent of his scurrilous behavior. I tend to think there's no way on earth he doesn't know Obama is 100 times the man, in all good things, that Trump is. Despicable person.
