BREAKING: The feds are withdrawing from Portland on Thursday

After my discussions with VP Pence and others, the federal government has agreed to withdraw federal officers from Portland. They have acted as an occupying force & brought violence. Starting tomorrow, all Customs and Border Protection & ICE officers will leave downtown Portland.




Coincidentally, i bet they go to Milwaukee, Cleveland, Detroit.

Perhaps not as many of these clowns as we thought to spread around.........

#1, they're only withdrawing SOME federal troops, not DHS.
#2, mere civilian protestors can't burn a building like that to the ground - sprinklers still work, the FD still exists, the building is mainly non-combustible construction.
#3, I don't believe burning a Federal Courthouse to the ground is the goal of most Portland BLM protestors. Maybe you know different?

1-that was my original question
2- sprinklers only do so much. They are a stop gap until the FD arrives. If the area isn't safe, the FD will not arrive.
3- I'm sure most of the protesters in Minneapolis did not have the goal of burning the police precinct or their neighborhood businesses. However when I drove down Lake street a couple days ago those buildings were burned.

Do you know for certain there is not a handful of protesters who want to cap their victory by setting the target building of the protest on fire? Or that provocateurs would use the crowd for cover to create the next Trump speech/ commercial? Or that there are just some people who like to burn things and doing so to a building that is a national focal point is too good to pass up?

I believe that it is highly unlikely that a Federal Courthouse will be burned to the extent that you fear, DHS Goons or not.

burning the surrounding fence and shooting firecrackers is a piss poor way to go about it. That's not the actual Federal Courthouse, is it?

This never gets mentioned.

I’m not defending law enforcement behavior. But we should at least acknowledge that protesters are visiting violence as well and threatening to burn down a federal courthouse. Many attempts have been made.

It’s just never mentioned for some reason. Here and many other places I frequent. To read within the bubble, federal presence and any response at all is totally unprovoked.

It’s disturbing to me, to be that checked into the narrative and out of objective factual analysis.

Agent Provocateurs were more common at the start of the protests, trying to set off their absurd "Boogaloo" theories.

In Portland that's not needed - there are real Fascists (Proud Boys, Patriot Prayer) openly provoking fights.

A small cadre of labeled and identified federal marshals should stay on the grounds of the federal building to stop breaker and enterers. The federal government does, after all, have legitimate business there.

But, I hope it's true that they're taking all of the anonymous militia out of there and removing "soldiers" from departments that just don't belong in that role, like CBP and the like.
