Barr's justification for reducing Stone's sentence... verbalized to Rep. Hank Johnson (D-Ga)

After Johnson asked him if he had changed Stone's punishment to do what trump wanted him to do, Barr responded:

"Let me ask YOU. Do you think it's fair for a 67 year old man to be sent to prison for seven to nine years?"

OMIGOD.

What's next in this brave new world of conservative jurisprudence? If it's good for the goose, it's not good for the gander? Will turnabout no longer be considered fair play?

Does this mean that if you're at least 67 you can go on a murder spree and not have to serve time for it? If that's the case, should I finally hunt down and whack my perfidious old boyfriend with respect to whom I've held a grudge for years because he dumped me, because now I can get away with it?

Do you s'pose it's to signal to Old Mr. Trump that he shouldn't have to do time for his crimes either?

It's called law and order, crime and punishment, etc., something someone in his position should know about. And if he keeps his antics up, he may well be facing a similar future.

Can you imagine if Kamala Harris got that kind of a setup? I realize it is the wrong chamber but I would like to have seen that.

I can think of any number of Congress members who could have made hay with that one.

Now we need an enterprising journalist or non-profit to come up with a list of older people doing federal time for chicken shit offenses and send them to Barr as a prove-it-to-us notion.

thanks
