Scott Adams goes off the Deep End

Disclaimer: I actually find Dilbert (the strip) to be funny. Sometimes it's funny because depicts the foibles of incompetent management; sometimes it's funny because Adams is butthurt about women or something, and isn't hiding it very well. It helps that it costs me nothing but a couple of seconds.

Dilbert the TV show, on the other hand, sucked. Sure, it had moments when the "edgier" (childish) humor worked; for example there was a "corporate carnival" that had not a kissing booth, but an "ass kissing booth," which got a snicker out of me. But most of it was dreadful.

Well, Scott just went on Twitter to snivel that it was cancelled because Scott Adams is a white man, and whitey don't get no fair shake in this world. And then the rest of the universe took his sorry ass to school.

The replies--and Adams' whiney responses--are funnier than Dilbert has ever been. This guy sums up my feelings best:

I didn't mention the sockpuppet scandal or the Trumpism or even the failed Dilberrito (sp?) franchise because...well, why kick a man when he's already beating himself senseless?

Now he's whining about how capitalism works. UPN had a limited number of slots and saw opportunity in filling an under-supplied market. His show didn't make the cut. But "he lost the job because he was white."

The problem is, unlike an actor who you can set aside his personal views while playing a role, Adams as the content creator of the strip gets to set the message.

And since his views on things have become more and more evident, I can’t read the strip any more without wondering how much of Adams’ alt-right troll personality is being projected.

So, unfortunately, I no longer enjoy reading Dilbert.

As his views became better known, you could see him pushing his Trump worship in his strip. I stopped reading after that

At least supposedly he was Some kind of engineer. He captured corporate cubicle life and management stupidity very well. But he got successful and became a full time cartoonist and Dilbert just missed the mark after that. Now he’s just full of himself. Haven’t read the strip In many years and wasn’t aware there was a TV show.

Guy hit the lotto with his comic strip and he's still complaining he had it tough. What a tone deaf racist asshole.

telling their stories of being discriminated against because they are white. None used the mostly white and all incompetent trump family and administration as examples of how unqualified white men are privileged.

No one admitted that hiring managers would never admit why a person doesn’t get a job, they tell the non-hire “they found someone who better fit the qualifications”. Adams’ followers are liars and losers.

having worked in engineering, dealing with marketing and management, he does have an understanding of how crazy that can be. Having said that, yeah, he goes off the rails from time to time. If he just sticks to the inter-office shit, he's decent.

Adams the person? The more I hear, the less I like.
