(1,725 posts)... but Medina is just to the south.

(81,426 posts)A 1944 cartoon in Sweden (which remained tenuously neutral and unoccupied during the war) indicates that Quisling had already made his name a byword for treachery. The caption reads:
I am Quisling.
And the name?

(34,055 posts)Then I scrolled through her twitter feed - it's by Lodi - locally infamous as the center of Klan activity in the county. (https://sundown.tougaloo.edu/sundowntownsshow.php?id=2684)
didn't know it was that bad... I'm in blue Cuyahoga. I figured it leaned right, but...
So seeing that Biden barn ... good sign.
I used to work in Medina, and I worked as an election observer in Medina for the 2008 election. Definitely Republican. Lodi is the far right extreme.

(1,725 posts)Used to go to Cavs games at the Coliseum, and that stretch just before you hit Richfield - through the National Park - is still scary, especially at night - and that had nothing to do with the people living near there, though Lodi is even further south. Spoiled living up north - didn't know the Klan lived so close. Or, hopefully, used to.

(34,055 posts)The stretch you're talking about between Cleveland and the Coliseum is populated by relatively friendly people (my inlaws grew up a stone's throw away - some still live there). I've ridden my bike on the Bike and Hike & Towpath trails in the area pretty late at night and feel relatively safe. (But I grew up in the wide open spaces in Nebraska so I'm used to really dark spaces). We used to make the same trek for the Force games.
When we moved from the Cleveland area to the Akron area that area was where we wanted to live (and realtors kept telling us we could afford it), but ultimately we decided that living between Akron and Cleveland was not a good use of our resources. Twice as much for half the space.
Not sure if the clan is gone - rumors still fly occasionally.
