(11,004 posts)Sounds like they are trying what AZ did in 2016 - switch to mostly vote by mail and close a shitload of polling places. It didn't turn out well for AZ.

Are candidates organizing van pools? Providing chairs for people to stand in line for how long--six feet apart, in summer heat? Really.

What critical votes are coming up Tuesday in Kentucky?

(7,968 posts)it is unlikely to skew the results or it skews the results unpredictably. I don't see how this helps the turtle.
But it helps us push hard for a fairer system by November 3.
Never mind, I think I am trying to apply logic to the actions of Reptilians and they don't use logic or reason so there is no explanation needed. The takeaway is that we have to fix the system because we are the only party that actually does.

(13,461 posts)People have been voting absentee for the past month and yes, our Dem Governor been really doing a good job with the pandemic, so much that he had armed militia not just at Capitol but also at his home.
The argument might be made that this still wasnt enough, but just because we are a red state doesnt mean the Gov isnt trying.
I just wish this story had the whole story, liberals should check to see if a southern state deserves the pounding first!

(58,785 posts)In-person early voting available before Kentucky primary
Registered voters in Kentucky can vote early, in-person, at their county clerks office by scheduling an appointment before the June 23 primary election.
The Kenton County Clerk says there is concern over the possibility of long lines on election day because only one polling place in each of Northern Kentuckys counties - Boone, Campbell, and Kenton - will be open.
In-person early voting will take place:
Friday, June 19; from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Saturday, June 20; from 9 a.m. to noon.
Monday, June 22, from 7:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.
For more information about in-person, early voting, and to schedule an appointment, contact the clerks office in the county where you live: Boone County, Campbell County, and Kenton County.
So, not just polling places cut but early voting to 3 days right before the election, only one on the weekend, and voters seemingly have to successfully get through by phone to make an appointment. I looked at the Boone County office, and there's no on-line way to "schedule."

(23,336 posts)... some right-wing groups are organizing massive phone efforts to overwhelm the phone number, office, etc. Denial of Service attack, of a sort. It will not be easy to get through.

(2,193 posts)I don't understand some of the comments that say this is OK.
It's clearly not OK, and I think it's precisely how they plan to steal the election.
They ALWAYS accuse us of doing what they're actually guilty of doing:
Rigging elections, rioting and violence at legal protests, etc., etc.

I care. I think most people care about this.
