(2,533 posts)They always exaggerate claims & each of those items could be a normal item used for camping. And the rocks may be ones collected at a beach for example.
Axes are used for making campfires. The bat may be for self defense or play. The clubs may be who knows what but if it fits the description why not. A dowel is a club in that example.
A meat cleaver is my go to cooking tool.
Seriously take it by face value and it is played up by the cops. Look at the bus-that is a orchestrated violent group?.

(22,340 posts)If that is normal camping gear, you are looking at some serious game hunting.
There were no firearms.
If you hunt with an axe you are a bad azze mutha I'll say that.

(7,430 posts)But you're right to point out the absurdity of "hippies" skulking around forest preserves with axes and rocks in search of diseased deer for their next meal.
A more plausible explanation would be that the "hippy bus" was cover for right wing rioters who want to have crude tools at their disposal just after they incite riots, similar to the classic story of the Trojan Horse.

(18,501 posts)Do you assume it was hippies on the bus because of the way it is painted? White supremacists would only drive a bus decorated with twin lightning bolts and '88' on the sides?

(14,488 posts)Otherwise, occupants will claim it's just an old bus full of junk. Will be interesting to follow this one up.
Couldn't find anything about this item in the Columbus Dispatch. Protests appeared relatively peaceful.
Lots of good photos of the Columbus protests here: https://www.dispatch.com/photogallery/OH/20200601/PHOTOGALLERY/601009994/PH/1

(86,378 posts)she was there helping people who had been maced and did not consent to search because it's her home. If it's your home, you have most of your belongings with you in your vehicle. As mentioned above, most of those items could have easily been household items for such a lifestyle. Since the owner is female, some sort of protection would be in order. Another person at the impound lot was stating that they were doing the same, helping those who had been maced/gassed and were accused of crimes not being committed.
So I wonder whether this is just misinfo or a setup.
