there was no need for a premature ultimatum and divisive attacks, especially after a week when NC saw its biggest daily increases and is not on a downward projectory yet.

NC has had no help from Fed gov on testing and very little on other equipment but T. couldn't miss an opportunity to exploit situation to turn NC voters against Gov. Cooper. Some Dems will be complaining about Cooper caving while Trumpers will be blasting Cooper about about need to reopen.

It remains to be seen what happens with the virus outbreak between now and then.

I think it's far too early for any guarantees to be made by N.C., and so if Drumpf really wants assurances right now, the Governor should tell him to pound sand, and put Drumpf on the defensive. Call his bluff, he has a shitty hand, given that it would be chaos to try and suddenly move everything to a different state.
