Trump ally: It's 'unrealistic' to say president shouldn't golf just because people are dying of COVI

Published 1 min ago on May 25, 2020
By Matthew Chapman

On CNN Monday, former Trump adviser and Republican lobbyist David Urban defended President Donald Trump’s decision to take a golf outing as coronavirus deaths approached 100,000.

“Every death is horrible,” Urban said. However, “people die in America every day, and just to expect the president to sit frozen in his office is unrealistic.”

Well dude, I could go into a rant about your hero, but since your on the same page as him, how much do you get being paid to be his buddy, while 40 million are out of work, and the federal unemployment benefits will run out on July, and the realistic fact that your "guy" has 100,000 + deaths on his Blood on His Hands, and he goes out and plays golf.............and then there is the Arlington debacle...........

Back in 2016 Trump promised if he became president he wouldn’t have time for golf: "I'm going to be working for you in the White House, I'm not going to have time to go play golf."

and had not wasted so much of the taxpayer money putting dollars in his pockets at his golf own courses, and had he not been distracted in early 2020 (I think he was watching Ivanka getting her toenails painted or something), and had not waited until he and Jared (Ken doll whose head got stuck in the mold) secured their kickbacks from any medical help the American people might have need during a pandemic, and had he not attempted to co-opt the scientists and the actual facts about the pandemic, and had he not outright lied ("Anyone who wants a test can get one&quot and spewed batshit crazy cures (Clorox? Lysol?), and had he set up a testing and tracing program, and had he helped the states and given them some national guidance instead of just saying "Do what you want. But if I don't like it I will withhold Federal Funding" and had not nearly 100,000 Americans died...

then, yeah, I might have said that even the most useless piece of quivering orange jello might deserve a day off to cheat at golf.
However, since I don't count watching Faux News and eating cheeseburgers and grifting and bloviating and appointing rapists to the Supreme Court actually working, I don't think he deserves 18 holes (of golf).

It is not some external criterion that we're applying to him capriciously. It's his standard. He declared it. He gave us the metrics on which he wants a President to be judged, and golfing during a public health crisis was explicitly - not implicitly but explicitly - not allowed.
