Take a look at this informative, if not eye-opening, video on Neoliberalism:

we NOT TAKEN CARE OF THIS??? Like the first 2 years of the Obama administration for instance?????

We could have passed all kinds of BULLETPROOF laws against money in politics, PLUS we could have passed ultra stringent laws against voter suppression, with stiff prison terms for anyone who denies someone their right to vote, but....here we are EIGHTY-FOUR YEARS later quoting FDR on the subject.

I don't get it.

Unless, somehow, and I hate to say it, but since nothing ever gets done it's fairly evident: more than one side must in some way benefit from how things are.

Because you need 60 votes in the Senate to pass that legislation and a President who will sign it. Actually, it wasn't that long ago that you needed 67 votes (2/3) to prevent a filibuster and get controversial legislation passed.

Controversial you ask? Yeah, when Senators X, Y and Z are in the pockets of big money contributors, they will fight tooth and nail to stay in those pockets.

the White House and both houses of congress, FDR explained it in his quote......"organized money"........,organized money or oligarchs control both the RNC & DNC, they control what goes around. IMHO, the only way to break out of this cycle and really improve the middle class is by having "REAL" progressives like FDR in charge of things. Joe Biden claims to be a progressive, we'll soon find out if he picks one as a running mate. I hope he picks Elizabeth Warren!

terms for anyone, anywhere, in any capacity, who denies qualified citizens their right to vote.

I don't think Democrats would ever lose another election!

THEN, we can concentrate on all the other stuff, but until it happens, there's going to be the perpetual seesaw of Republicans fucking everything up, then Democrats having to clean up their mess, the Republicans winning again, ad nauseum!

I've been voting since Hubert Humphrey for cripes sake and I'M SICK OF IT!

is that it typically is focused on maybe iniatives. The Democratic Party post Wilson has been a broad-based party, heck in 1948, we had segregationists AND liberals like Humphrey. Even when Biden came to Washington in the early seventies, segregationists such as James Eastland and John Stennis held high positions in the Democratic Party. Lester Maddox and George Wallace were democrats. So, the Democratic Party is so broad based, even today, that getting the type of consensus that is needed to pass policy that is going to really shake things up is difficult.

Because while government by organized mob will kill people, government by organized money will kill everyone.
