It’s mostly about things like his inability to take the blame for his mistakes, his hatred of women, the love affair he has with right-wing dictators, etc.

It’s a long article, but worth reading, I think.

Trump voters like Trump precisely because of who he is -- someone who speaks his mind, leads through steamrolling, is openly racist, insults people to their faces and treats women like shit if they are seen to deserve it. And that actually intersects quite a bit with what is valued as masculinity in this culture.

People didn't support Hitler because he was the ultimate Aryan manly-man, either.

Trump’s base has a number of incels, and other guys who think fear of strong women is somehow macho. His inability to take responsibility for anything is also somehow seen as a strength. But traditionally, that wasn’t the case. Real men were men of their word, who respected women and tried to protect people.
