The Trumps are not shy about proclaiming how much they have 'sacrificed'.

Visit to Arlington Cemetery reminded Donald Trump Jr. of all his family's 'sacrifices,' he writes

"I gave up my life to move to Washington to help Americans," Ivanka Trump says in Davos interview.

They are absolutely shameless. How so many people can be blind to it just baffles me.

Of the US or of any other country?

I know his grandfather left Germany (actually Bavaria at the time) to avoid service. When he tried to move back after he made his money as a pimp during the Alaskan gold rush, they would not allow him to stay in Germany because of his draft dodging.

Fred Trump, his father, profited during WWII by building barracks and apartments for Navy personnel, so he didn't serve. We know that Dolt45 was a draft dodger with multiple deferments. And of course, none of his children have ever served.

Maybe some of the other people with the Trump name have, but none in this particular family have. Ivanka thinks moving to Washington to play at being an international stick figure is a sacrifice? Don Jr, well, this veteran said it best:

"Eight men I served with are buried in Section 60 of Arlington. I visit them monthly," tweeted Rep. Ruben Gallego, D-Ariz., who served in the Iraq War. "Even if Donald JR. lived a 1,000 years he will never even get close to being as good and honorable as they were. Sacrifice is only a word to the Trumps."

The author Matt Gallagher, also an Iraq War veteran, said on Twitter: "Imagine going to Arlington ... and being moved to think about money. You are a soup sandwich, @DonaldJTrumpJr, and my friends buried there would tell you the same thing."

And claimed to be of Swedish descent. As usual, this branch of the family lied its way through the war while making a profit.

mentioning Trump would have made it sound like a political ad, which it kinda is, but it would have diminished it a lot.

From the Facebook feed of our mutual friend.

The following was just posted by Bill Rutledge, my friend since childhood. Those who know Bill are most grateful for his career of service. I can think of no more fitting observance of Memorial Day. Here it is:

Memorial Day, 2020. Please think about not saying, “Happy Memorial Day.” It’s a day for quiet reflection and respect.

“ And I heard the voice of the Lord saying, “Whom shall I send and who will go for us?””

The following 13 guys, my classmates, good friends, squadron mates, instructors, fellow aviators, and more-than-casual acquaintances, each in their own way, answered, “Here am I. Send me.” And by accepting that charge to ‘go for us’, each of them paid, at a too-young age, with their lives:
Bob Brown
Mick Larkin
Don Yansak
Larry Livingston
Dave Hahn
Randy Davis
Zach Stidmon
Ron Diehl
Dutch Kuehler
Dave Hawkins
Glenn Proffitt
George Hall
Tom Koritz.

Rest In Peace, guys and happy landings ‘out West.’
