Once the tale of buying my sister the plots,it got around. Our hometown can never keep secrets. So, others in town started doing things too. One group gave them a ton of food in 5 coolers. Another group showed up and helped them pick out headstones and donated them and the people from the funeral home have told them not to worry, that my sister will be given the best care. (hubby and I DJ'd their wedding at the funeral home) so I guess they are giving forward.
I am in awe of my home town.
My sister sees the cancer doc on Tuesday. She either has one more pill very powerful to try 4 times a day or hospice moves in. No ifs and or buts.
We saw her Saturday and she is just a shell of herself. She was trying to be happy but we could all tell she was in so much pain.

(6,080 posts)I advertised on a neighborhood app for someone to help me move a refrigerator to the road. Willing to pay for their time and effort with fifty dollars.
A man from the neighborhood brought his appliance dolly (we were going to rent one), moved the fridge and wouldn't accept a penny. Very nice young man.
I hope I can pay it forward one day.
