PSA: I was tested yesterday for Covid-19, results returned this today are negative, I'm virus free.

Virus free for now, at least. Kiss me!

Now the PSA part:

The nasal swab test is not 100% reliable (they have to tell you that) but only shows active infection.

The antibody test type would show if you had a past infection, symptomatic or not.

One really needs both tests as neither one provides the full picture.

Accordingly, if we want to treat this seriously, we need to provide both forms of testing to all citizens, starting with first responders and medical staff, then moving quickly toward essential public services staff like teachers and care providers, and down the line. We should have been doing this from the beginning.

I was tested as a member of a risk category, age and medical history.
Stay well, stay in, but stay politically active.
Oh, and get out the damned vote.

A. Congrats, but B. Why were you tested? Symptoms? Exposure to some who has the coronavirus? 4139 May 2020 #5
Everyone needs to be tested, I was lucky to have been recommended for a test. Alex4Martinez May 2020 #7
Where are you that you have drive-up testing? BComplex May 2020 #6

Everything in degrees, a food delivery could have virus on the box or bag.

All any of us can do is decrease our risk and our risk to others.

We need to get to a place where most people who are out in public are tested weekly. With both tests.

I tested negative too a few weeks ago when I was having some allergy symptoms that were the same a covid.

You mentioned age and medical history, but you didn’t mention a reason why you got tested.

With there still being limited test resources, testing should be limited to those with symptoms and those known to have been exposed.

Yes, I considered potential local shortages of tests and test equipment and investigated this before permitting the test taking place.

As described above, it was recommended that I take the test based on age, medical history, symptoms, and other factors that all pointed to having the test done.

Trump needs to get out of the way and every state needs to expand testing. I'm lucky to live in a state with a proactive governor, Newsom was doing the right thing for us while Trump was pretending there was nothing to be done.

He's still doing that.

My test was done in Santa Cruz County, California, Sutter Health, part of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation.

The set up looks identical to the Florida image.

Here is the article for the image, interesting that a native tribal org is offering tests to all comers:
