(53,342 posts)No way these idiots ever draw more than a few hapless clowns at their various protests. Esp. in bad weather like in MI?
This was something coordinated and orchestrated behind the scenes.

My husband said some of the signage was a little too slick to be 100% home grown.

Okay then. YOU jackoffs go cluster together out there with your cute little shared outrage. Have your mobs. Nice n close together with your cutesy-poo little revolutionary signs your red trump hats and your YELLOW flags. Anybody ever tell you that yellow is the color of cowardice?
And how many of you are brave enough to face what your own recklessness may well visit upon you?

(25,896 posts)But many of the demonstrators, some waving Trump campaign flags, ignored the organizers pleas and flooded the streets, according to NBC news. Protesters chanted, Open up Michigan, and at one point erupted into a Lock her up refrain in reference to Whitmer.
The Democratic governor last week issued one of the nations strictest stay-at-home orders amid the coronavirus pandemic, choosing to not align the state with a federal agencys revised list of critical infrastructure, which would allow some Michiganders to return to work. Though the list is advisory, Whitmers decision to tighten instead of loosen restrictions has sparked backlash from Republican legislators across the state.
Vile.

(58,785 posts)directed, funded by them to channel populist angers, originally focusing on the corrupt Republicans serving them, against the Democrats trying to save the TPers from them. Same thing. This won't be confined to a few manufactured events in a few cities. Organizers are bringing hirees to prime the pump.
* Republicans deliberately allowed pandemic to develop and are refusing to control their pandemic for their own, currently unexamined reasons.
* The economic costs are unacceptable, so they want to force people back into dangerous workplaces and encourage consumers to get out and spend. Increased death rates are acceptable but create obvious difficulties.
* To carry that off, they need irrational support to overwhelm opposition and give them political protection. And they know just where and how to develop it.
This populist anti- protection thing they're whomping up is reportedly using and growing already pervasive anti-science hostilities along with the usual mass fear and anger. And there are already protests staged elsewhere. I was sleepy last night while the appeal to anti-science deniers was being discussed and missed the rest, but prepare to see this around the nation.
Btw, in OTHER nations RW authoritarian governments are using the pandemic disruption to grab and consolidate further power.

(14,847 posts)Weeks ago, when Ohio started the social restrictions, I asked a Trump cultist at work why our Republican Governor was trying to make Trump look bad. (As a FOX News worshipper, he had previously declared the virus was a hoax for that reason.)
He replied, Its because DeWine is a goddamn RINO! Then he explained what RINO meant, as if I didnt know.
He never previously complained about DeWine.
I dont work there anymore, so I have no idea what he thinks now.
I used to have some fun with him, pretending to be a fellow idiot. Id bring up GOP contradictions and act confused by them, and pretending to seek his guidance just to hear the hilarious explanations from him. (I also hoped to break through his cognitive dissonance by using indirect methods.)
