4. Perhaps, but the Legislature has the power to change the election date, not the Governor.  ( n/t )

8. I agree. And Republican Legislators should be severely punished by the voters in November.

At least half the ads should be...

Remember when we were all staying at home to prevent the spread of Covid-19 to save lives? Republicans in the Legislature decided that was the perfect time to hold statewide elections. Our Democratic Governor tried to postpone the election for your safety, but the Republicans took him to the Wisconsin Supreme Court to force their constituents to go outside and risk their health in order to cast an in-person ballot. They also blocked an extension of mail-in voting proposed by the Governor to force everybody to crowd around polling places and use voting machines that may have been contaminated with the coronavirus. Are these the people you want looking out for your safety and the safety of those you care about? Vote for <Democratic candidate>.

But it still doesn't mean the Governor can change the election date unless that power has been granted to the office - regardless if it is the proper action to take.

3. It is not as dramatic as your OP makes it out to be.

There are thousands of offices to be filled by that election, some terms expiring within two weeks. I am afraid that the Governor chose a bad hill to die on when the total picture is examined. I do believe that he should press mail-in voting, as should democrats across the country, these times demand that, he is more likely to prevail on such an effort.
