"Covered California projects premiums to rise 40% or more because of COVID-19"

Sorry folks, Covered California is Obamacare and it will not be adequate to our needs.

Let's hope that we win in November and that our new president recognizes that we need a whole different program.

12:30 p.m. Covered California projects premiums to rise 40% or more because of COVID-19: “Premiums in the individual and employer markets for 2021 — which are in the process of being set right now — could be 40 percent or more solely because of these unexpected COVID-19 costs in the absence of federal action, as insurers would seek to recoup unplanned for losses from 2020 and budget for pandemic-related costs in 2021,” officials said in a news release.

I think it's irresponsible to even put out any projections with so little information of what the magnitude of costs will be.

I had to go down to bronze level coverage. If I get sick with this virus I will have to come up with a LOT of money somehow.

And now this.

I know there are so many people far more vulnerable than me who live in constant fear. It is a terrible way to live.

How anyone can oppose M4A and sleep at night is beyond me.

unfortunately.

A Public Option, with significant subsidies, has a better chance and will get us to MFA quicker.

Give businesses and individuals the opportunity to buy their health insurance directly from the government.

As much an improvement as it was, the ACA was as much a gift to the industry as it was a boon to those without care and those who could not get care. I'm glad it passed but it was only a step.

Now is the time, these are the circumstances, and somebody needs to step up and make it happen!
