Fox "News" I cannot figure out how viewers seriously consider Fox News a responsible news outlet.

I NEVER watch the piece of junk program (and I say program, because that's what it is: carefully prepared eye-candy, and ear-candy for brainwashed idiots), but it was on tonight at the gym—right in front of me.

So from time to time, I'd look up; and EVERY SINGLE TIME I looked up, they had the words "liberal" or "Democrat" posted on the screen along with negative connotations.

If it were the first time I'd ever seen the station, it would have been 100% obvious to me that Fox News was a right wing spewing piece of crap.

What the hell is wrong with people? The crap the right wing vomits at their feet and in their faces on Fox News is so obviously filled with lies and deceit, but they eat it up like it's a free meal from a high end restaurant.

Fox is just echoing what the most twisted minds amongst the population are thinking.

And they don't mind twisting facts just for this purpose.

It legitimizes their feelings and encourages those hesitant to think the same way to accept it as being OK.

It's what happens though, when you have a two party system. Like any sport involving two teams, you can see no wrong in the team you follow, and have dark thoughts about the other team. Look at any crowd at a Trump rally, do you see serious people who want to hear an intelligent discussion about different political views? No, you see a football crowd that cheers every time the coach badmouths the other team.

Sad but true.

Most Fox watchers wouldn't think of Fox as a serious outlet. It's not about that.
More like an echo of their darkest thoughts, a Jerry Springer clone.

That’s a euphemism.

They’re not very bright.

Also, they’re naturally inclined to be followers (q.v. the high proportion of evangelicals amongst them). That’s not their fault, but I think it explains a lot of it.

but it sure is their responsibility to think at a much higher level of intellectual ability.

The " I am a dumb FK and proud of it" just doesn't sit well with most people. Despite the current POTUS (may his days be numbered) and Fox showing that exact attitude.

Question: What will Fox do when Trump goes?
Will they fire everybody, hire new faces, and spend a lot of time saying . . . sorry, we didn't mean it?

we're in this disaster and the fascists have been so successful is that people keep blaming symptoms of letting 1500 radio stations blast a much larger and often captive audience with unchallenged lies all day for 30 years.

here are a few of the reasons fox is not the problem

1 there are free easy political alternatives to fox a click away
2 you can't watch it while driving - generally - and that audience is becoming extinct
3 most of the political propaganda is on in prime time - for rw radio it might average 15 hrs /day /station
4 it's a much smaller audience - a couple/few of million here and there at anyone time
5 limbaugh on 600 staationss has an audience of 15 mil/day and gets 3 hrs to sell a few things - like global warming is a hoax, my neighbor and friend trump is innocent and a great christian guy working for the little guy, benghazi, - which is repeated by hannity the 3 hrs after that on 500 stations and the local guy right after that because he loses his job if he doesn't
6 don't tell me people are looking deep into sean fucking hannity and tucker fucking carlson's eyes and and believing all this shit because they say it

fix the radio and fox disappears

They are not.. They even admitted it in court. They got sued for misrepresenting the "news" years ago their defense was that they are an "info-tainment" station......not a news outlet...

Regular viewers have long-since been brainwashed by years of viewing Faux programming, talk radio, a right-wing boss and/or dad and in some cases their preachers. They're members of a cult of addictive dependency that live in a closed bubble.

Faux TV, RW radio to/from work and a Sunday sermon provide the much needed daily reinforcement and drug buzz they crave.

Rather than seeing it as a free meal from a high end restaurant, look at it like a hit of meth or cocaine.

Fox News is nothing more than Joe McCarthy with pretty blonds and high end production values.

Fox News is a cancer on the country I love. End of story.

Failure or inability to recognize patterns. Faulty grasp of principles of logic. Oh, and hatred. A few other things but I'll leave it at that.

They react to their fears, rather than on critical thought. The Fox Propaganda Channel was created to feed their fears and biases. It tells them what they want to hear. Since they lack (or refuse to use) critical thinking skills, they' don't question what they're told. It's really easy to exploit people like that, and Fox is a master at it.
