Robert Mueller and the collapse of American trust

The reaction to AG William Barr’s Mueller letter reveals a disturbing truth about America.

https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2019/3/25/18280802/donald-trump-mueller-report-barr-news-trust

Attorney General William Barr’s summary of special counsel Robert Mueller’s report has not resolved all of the disputes surrounding Donald Trump’s ties to Russia during the 2016 election. But the reaction to it has revealed one of the ways in which American politics is deeply and profoundly broken.

Democrats have responded to Barr’s summary by calling the attorney general’s impartiality into question (not entirely without reason). Leading members of Congress have raised the alarm about “very concerning discrepancies and final decision making at the Justice Department” and are pushing for the full release of Mueller’s report and for Barr to testify under oath.

Congressional Republicans, meanwhile, have responded by blasting “the biased media” for spreading “a collective scam and fraud.” The chair of the Senate Judiciary Committee, Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), even called for investigations into the FBI’s investigation itself, to see if the bureau’s pursuit of Trump and his allies was in any way improper.

A quick gander at social media shows this polarized reaction from partisan politicians is reflected in their parties’ respective media surrogates and rank-and-file voters. There’s not even a pretense of neutrality: Everyone is reading what they want into Barr’s letter, establishing a reality in which their side is right and the other side is making things up.

Barr’s document is particularly vague on some points, an ambiguity heightened by the fact that no one weighing in — from either side — has read the full report. But even the most unequivocal report would be subject to the deeper forces: the death of the neutral arbiter.

So he instead is using other means , who have more powers, to go after all involved , and convict them and hold them all accountable. He is a very smart prosecutor who is way ahead of all of us in this field, so I think we should wait to see if what he did was for very good reasons going forward against trump and all those involved. Barr's statement was falsely done , and Mueller probably knew this was coming . When the real report is exposed Barr's credibility will be in the toilet like trumps is. trump's comments now will only make him look more guilty of his being a criminal when all gets exposed , and it will be. trump again is making these outrageous statements for distraction from the truth, we don't know yet what is actually in this report from Robert Mueller, but will. trumps scared for it to get out, and will do everything he can to prevent its exposing him and many others.

I will not make any judgement overall until I see the report and until I see what the SDNY does (and the NY state cases).

There are still 37 separate investigations going on!!

This is not over no matter the gloating. And, boy the Media is fighting back full tilt on MSNBC.

Not so much on CNN, wishy washy there. The truth will come out.

I detest CNN, it is amateurish and centre-right in overall tilt. MSNBC is ok at times, best of a bad lot of the major MSM cable networks.

I have not been able to stomach Joe. When he was supporting Trump, but for now he has turned around.

Be sure and check the video of Colbert to the left. He popogizes to Trump.

And the WP just did a day of reckoning. This would be funny if not so serious.

at the start and ripped the big press who were acting all cowed and gutless in the face of the no indictments shitstorm.

MSNBC's nightly lineup is much better.

For your History search of Scarborough. He was in the front of the crowd walking across the street for the House committee to interview Monica Lewinsky, giggling like school boys seeing dirty pictures.

Shortly after the impeachment vote Joe resigned to spend time with his family. He was do
Ivorced a shart time later. A dead girl was found in his office in Florida, hitting her head on a table. Joe was not there so not blaming him. He had a second divorce a couple of years ago. Hidden, but then Trump threatened to expose his affair. He and Mika married.

Not accusing, just laying out facts of Joe and Mika.

Make of it what you will.

That Mueller was one step ahead of themby putting most of the indictments in other Courts.

I am not ready to blame Mueller yet.

But we already know that Barr is a cover up expert for the Bush family. With his Son-in-law’s hire bt Trump, plus his Daughter it is pretty clear what that wonderful family of Attorney’s are.

He may just have done his narrowly defined job and nothing more. Until I see more evidence, I tend to believe that people saw in Mueller want they wanted to see. Wild theories that he's still out to save everything are starting to sound like Qanon.

The Russians simply used Trump but knew how not to leave a smoking gun. Iran-Contra all over again, except the implications are more devastating,

Before we decide anything. And my feeling is Barr and the Trump cult will cover. The same way they covered for Reagan and the Bushes. The same old gang is back in charge.
