What do you think will happen if I do wear it?

(12,210 posts)I have a red baseball cap that I wore walking my dog...and after the MAGA red hat thing, can't get myself to wear it anymore.

(47,285 posts)at the doctor's office, very nice guy. I unconsciously had a visceral reaction to his red cap, then noticed it WASN'T a MAGA hat. Whew! I have a feeling red caps will become less popular among normal people. It's become like a uniform.

There wasn't any insignia on it.
I still thought the guy was a dick for wearing it.
Perhaps, it's his way of supporting Trump without stating it. It gives him plausible deniability if questioned.
But, at the same time, delivers the message he want's to deliver, in a passive way.

(6,133 posts)to keep the sun away doing construction. Wear a sombrero. It keeps the sun away from your body too. It also makes you sort of a character.

(31,261 posts)I really don't go in the sun much, at least not spend a lot of time in it, so I don't have use for a cap.
But yeah, if I did wear a cap, no way in hell would it be red or any other color cap that Trump likes.

He's an older guy and he is bald, and dammit he really likes that hat. But thanks to Trump, hubby's personal red baseball cap is doomed to the back of the closet, probably forever.

(15,534 posts)He was an old, white guy with a red baseball hat on which clearly had white letters on it. My immediate thought was "Oh, brother. Here comes a looney. Don't engage. Don't look him in the eye." Now, I tend to be a friendly person and usually smile or say hi to people at the park. I geared myself up beforehand, telling myself, no, you do not have to say hi to him or smile at him. It felt unnatural to me.
Then as I got closer I glanced at the hat and it said, "Trump is an asshole". LOL I looked straight at him and said, "I love your hat." He smiled and said, "I do too. I wear it every chance I get."
So there's that.
