Toronto van muder suspect in custody.

Last edited Mon Apr 23, 2018, 06:07 PM - Edit history (1)

If this guy had done this to a police officer in the U.S., he would have been shot 20,000 times.
I can't get over how the officer didn't open fire. Maybe he could tell it wasn't a gun?

That link has changed...here's a different view
https://www.mirror.co.uk/news/world-news/breaking-toronto-canada-van-crash-12414819

The first link showed the suspect pointing something at the police officer, then putting it behind his back, then pulling it out real quick and pointing again. But that link is gone.

The culture is different and I'm betting that if they had shot him, they would have hit his hand.

The RCMP here most certainly have SUVs. Stop romanticizing some silly ideal.

3. It's a Hollywood myth to shoot a gun out of someone's hand

It's a very difficult shot and the odds of missing are extremely high. Sure, people can group shots tightly with a pistol, but that is from a competition stance, stable breathing and stable heart rate with no adrenaline flowing. And frankly, if the officer had the time to stabilize and aim that shot, they had the opportunity to not shoot at all.

at the officer. and then moving it behind his back and then pointing it again.
Like he wanted to be shot.
I'll look for the link again.
Thanks!
