I swore I would never do anything with beading thread
Too insubstantial compared to waxed cotton, hemp, rattail, leather, AccuFlex and PowerCord. But I saw a pattern in a beading magazine with the size D Nymo passed a number of times through the beads that I really liked, and I couldn't resist. I'm waiting for a reply from my third party as to which one to give our mutual friend as a wedding present.

7. Myself, I'm trying to get to Tansy Gold's level in the wire wrap department

Moral of the story--every one of us will find someone a few steps ahead to emulate, no matter how good we get. The important thing is to just keep getting a few steps ahead, project by project, wherever you are in that process.

8. Try "fire line"
It's ultra-strong, ultra-flexible wire. It's even finer than beading thread. I've had a problem with some of the earliest beading projects I've done with nymo falling apart after a few years, but the fire line holds up great.

They sell it in the sports section of Wal Mart (I guess it's also used in fishing) in case you don't have a bead shop near you.

Those necklaces do look cool.

9. That's what I was worried about
How does is hang? I associate wire with a certain amount of stiffness.

10. It depends on the beads
Something really light-weight, like seed beads, might not drape as easily. The beads you used in those necklaces look heavy enough that they would probably hang just fine.

I wore the other one to our quarterly state Dems meeting, and got a commission from a woman who wanted one just like it.

14. True--it's very hard to capture the aurora borealis finish on the beads
Even the bead catalog pros fall short on that. If you haven't messed around with AB beads yet, try it--you'll like it!
