Those hearings will likely be very tough to do well. Their comparison to the Fulbright hearings misses that the dynamic may be quite different as Kerry's earlier hearings might have to some degree have been input (along with lots of other input) to the positions that the Obama administration has taken. It will be fascinating to see if he can remain both independent and honest and an ally to Obama.

3. That is an ambitious plan

It looks like Sen. Kerry was trying to put off those Afghanistan hearings until after the August break. Health Care was supposed to be all done before the August break, but I'm not sure if that will be the schedule now. I wonder if that will affect things.
